CLASS Description

Defensive Pistol Program

What you'll learn The Defensive Pistol Program (DPP) is a comprehensive, multi-level training curriculum designed to equip students with the necessary skills to effectively and responsibly defend themselves. With its unique focus on skill development, objective and performance-based training, and adaptability to individual skill levels, DPP differentiates itself amidst a competitive landscape of individual trainers, local shooting ranges, and national organizations current training offerings. Topics covered include fundamentals of defensive marksmanship, drawing from the holster, balance of speed and precision, defensive response, malfunctions and single-handed shooting, and orientation and movement. Initial Colorado Concealed Carry Course (8 hours)

During the six- hour classroom portion, you will learn: Concealed Handgun Training Class (INITIAL) you will then be required to perform a 50 round live fire evaluation course (TOTAL-8 HOURS): New Bills in State and federal Legislature, SCOTUS Rulings 1. WASHINGTON DC v HELLER (2008) 2. CHICAGO v MacDONALD (2010) 3. New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen (2023) 4. Developing a personal and home protection plan. 5. Firearms safety and safe storage 6. Situational Awareness- Make a habit of being alert Deadly Force Decision Making 6. Firearms Retention- (Keeping the handgun in the holster) 7. Tactical Movements- Practice home/streets 8. Marksmanship Skills- Live/dry fire realistic exercises 9. After-Action Skills- Know when/what to say to Police 10. Self-defense Firearms Basics An open book exam is required for passing (80 %) Live fire evaluation is also required (50 round course) Please bring ALL required gear and be prepared to perform the 50 round live fire evaluation to include the following: -Firearm you'll be carrying on you concealed - At least 1 box of 50 rounds. - 3 magazines is preferable but (at least 2 magazines is required), and magazine holder (preferred as well) - holster - Eye and Ear protection

Colorado Refresher Concealed Carry Course (at least 2-hour Course)

This course will satisfy the new Colorado laws Bill 24-1174 and is intended for students with a CURRENT VALID CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT and must present this to the instructor prior to completing this course. All students will learn about the learn about current state and federal firearm laws that include discussions on the Use of Force, the use of force continuum, deadly force, castle doctrine, stand your ground (people v toler), recent SCOTUS and Colorado laws in regards of firearms. Students must pass both a written exam (minimum 80% score) and a live-fire exercise 70% (minimum 35 out of the 50 rounds hit). The student may choose to train and fire with either a revolver or pistol. Please bring ALL required gear and be prepared to perform the 50 round live fire evaluation to include the following: -Firearm you'll be carrying on you concealed - At least 1 box of 50 rounds. - 3 magazines is preferable but (at least 2 magazines is required), and magazine holder (preferred as well) - holster - Eye and Ear protection
